I chose to leave 11 years on active-duty in the U.S. Coast Guard to move to CA and pursue a career in fitness full time. Shortly after moving to San Diego in 2015, I earned my spot as a fitness coach on the Orangetheory Team and never could have imagined how inspiring and rewarding this career change would prove to be.
Fitness continues to a be life-long journey for me and has transformed from a being chubby tuba player in high school back home in Greenville, S.C., to competing in my first physique competition as an NPC bikini competitor in Washington, D.C., in 2014.
I know how it feels to struggle with weight loss, but I also know the how powerful it can be when you set your mind on a goal and commit 100% to see it through. I believe we are all stronger than we realize. It is not until we are challenged that we begin to see our full potential. Tomorrow is not promised. The time is now to commit to your goals and turns those dreams into reality. Let’s do it together!

Greetings Orange Peeps!
I am Coach Jolen! I've been with Orangetheory Fitness since October 2013 and couldn't be luckier to be part of such a great organization! I've been in the fitness industry for 5 years and am passionate about having a healthy lifestyle and motivating others to do the same. On my free time you'll find me taking OTF classes, lifting heavy things up and putting them down, and doing yoga. I also own and operate the Body Fat Truck here in San Diego. Favorite things: music, beaches, the San Diego Chargers, snowboarding, coffee, and inspirational quotes. Hope to see you in my class, be prepared to sweat and smile!
I was raised in Corvallis Oregon, home of the beavers. I played sports all my life all the way up to the Division 1 level. I've always been into fitness and loved being active. Graduated from Oregon State University with a bachelors in Exercise Sports Science and decided it was time to venture away from home, which led me to the sun and the beautiful people here in San Diego. I am certified through ACE with a personal training certification as well as multiple group fitness certifications through Les Mills Body Pump, GRIT, TRX and even helped create a bootcamp HIIT class at Oregon State that we called Dam Fit that is still being implemented successfully today. My goal is to positively impact every life I come into contact with and help spread health and fitness and active living to the world. Orangetheory is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me and I'm going to spend a good portion of my life smiling, dancing, motivating and spreading kindness/fitness because of this "job" and all the amazing people that it has brought into my life.
